Koendidda Country House is an estate built in the 1860s with a gold rush fortune. It has been tenderly restored and now operates as one of Victoria’s most evocative country houses and Bed & Breakfast. The grand home captures your imagination from the moment you arrive. Koendidda Country House was created at a time when elegance and serenity were an art form, designed so you can leave the world behind.
Warm and inviting, the mansion inside is generous in every sense. From warm fireplaces and delicious local wines, you’ll feel as though you are living in a different age.
6 spacious bedrooms with private ensuites. Exclusive access to the mansion, formal dining room, sitting rooms, library outdoor dining and grounds. Fully licensed.
From the Pangarang language and believed to have two meanings: “Running water and Parting of the clouds”. In the literal sense there is a connection in that rainfall resulting from the “parting of the clouds’ causes the Indigo Creek, formerly the Koendidda to flow, often wide and fast.
Unfortunately, the Pangarang language died in 1888 with Mary Jane Milawa, the last of her tribe.
” Warm friendly atmosphere (Sam and Shelby are the best hosts) nothing’s to much bother, Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to base yourself while going to any of the local wineries

” We had a great stay at Koendidda Country House. It was an amazing historic building in a natural setting. The location was great for exploring the local area. The host was excellent and we had the tasty seafood platter for dinner. Breakfast was also great.

” What a wonderful place! We held our wedding at Koendidda, staying there with family for the weekend. We loved that it is so private, and elegant, with beautiful grand furnishings but still felt like a loved home. The hosts, Alan & Karen, looked after us & everything very well, providing us all with delicious meals, making sure we were all very well fed! Nothing was a drama for them, and they helped to make our day stress-free. We truly felt spoilt in such beautiful surrounds & loved every minute of our stay there. Will definately be going back.
